Favorite Black History Moments in Black TV
I do not care about anyone else celebrating Black History Month because they don’t control what we do. We do not need their permission and never did. I wanted to take this first Black History Month post and dedicate it to some media that also reflects Black history. Finishing this post made me realize that even though I did not go through every tv show for episodes that we need more Black shows to highlight Black history and not just the same stories or false promises that diversity and consuming other people’s cultures will “solve” racism.
Preparing for Project 2025
It is here and we have to prepare ourselves and our communities in order to survive. Take lots of deep breaths as to not get overwhelmed. In this post I will be covering what Project 2025 is taking away from us and how we can combat it and how we can find active grassroots and support groups.
DIY Wellness Retreat
I love that self care is a routine word and more widely accepted however, I feel that the definition has changed thanks to consumerism. Self care has turned into a focus on external care like face masks and pedicures. I always considered self care as a time to take care of all parts of the self and is something I like to do weekly and on holidays. I wanted to travel and go on a wellness retreat but I was not able to afford it nor schedule it. So I decided to have my own wellness retreat at home and plan on doing one with my family.

I like to get in the “Thanksgiving” mood by watching some of my favorite comfort shows’ thanksgiving episodes. They are hilarious and heartfelt.
