Preparing for Project 2025

It is here and we have to prepare ourselves and our communities in order to survive. Take lots of deep breaths as to not get overwhelmed. In this post I will be covering what Project 2025 is taking away from us and how we can combat it and how we can find active grassroots and support groups.

I did not read all 900 pages of the proposed project but I am using a summarized guide from afscme93.0rg to organize and plan. In general, there will be attacks on unions, healthcare, education programs that help poor people in America in order to uphold the capitalistic structure of America. I do believe capitalism is a failed system and that we can fight for a new government structure but the key word here is FIGHT! We have to remember that we are the ‘worker ants’ and we have the power. They know we have the power hence why they have been building cop cities.

In general, I plan to not spend money in this economy. I will be cancelling all my subscriptions and transitioning to physical media for entertainment. I have deleted all META apps from my phone and am in the process of removing my content so that my face will not be used for AI. I will no longer shop with or eat out at large chains especially those who have decommitted from diversity, equity and inclusion efforts including but not limited to Walmart and Mcdonalds. I get all my groceries from a farm and farmers markets. I am also looking into growing my own food at home. Some people are going a step further and buying silver and gold pieces online for an economic collapse. We also need to find ways to support and help our houseless communities. People with extra food, water and clothing should donate directly to camps or shelters. We all need each other and if we can look out for one another, we can stick together to get the results and rights we need.

They are planning to get rid of workers unions. Unions help workers have a unified voice at their workplace and get better pay, better health care and other needs workers have. Without unions, it can be more difficult to organize and stand against workplace injustice and withheld wages. In order to combat this, we must actually talk to our coworkers. Find out who is going to be helpful and on the same page and find out who are the opps. It is good to weed and categorize people early. I would then have secret meetings with the trusted coworkers to organize strikes if and when needed. This takes a lot of time and planning including telling people who do not work with you so they will stand in solidarity with the workers and not take vacant jobs.

The Department of Education and Head Start programs are under attack leading to more parental control over schools and less options for affordable child care services. They are already banning books and certain curriculums so that means people with common sense who do not want everyone forced into one religion or way of thinking need to intervene. This could mean becoming an active participant in school boards. These are not always open positions but looking at your local public school openings is a start. Not everyone has that time but there are public forums where people in the community like parents come to speak up and be heard by board members. There are also open meetings held. You can even find time to volunteer in schools or help programs that are already in schools by giving money or time. I am also thinking about after school programs where the children can get help with homework, access to the books they actually want to read and a way to connect with community. There are grassroots organizations locally that are already doing this work as well so do not be overwhelmed trying to start something from the ground up as it is not always necessary.

The government also wants to get rid of FAFSA and the SAVE initiative and the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. I think everyone should be able to get secondary education for free in America. This means that people who do not have the money to pay for school will have to take insane amounts of loans, rely on grants or join the military. DO NOT JOIN THE MILITARY TO PAY FOR SCHOOL. I understand it helps so many people pay for college but you have to sign your life away to support probably the most evil military in the world. And they force this option on poor people and particularly Black people. I would not suggest that as the first method. We have to look at all options and look for cheaper college options or trade school options. I think without FAFSA that means the work-study option would also not be available. There are some no-loan schools but I have not been to one. Jobs are difficult to come by but some employers would cover schooling for their employees or offer programs that could close the gap. They are trying to take away our education on purpose so I am not sure how available these programs will be. I would also suggest getting certifications you can test for if you do not “need” a traditional degree. For example, I am taking an online class through a third party website where they host all sorts of courses. Once I am finished, I will take the official project management certification. (Still working on the answers for this one).

There have been conversations about taxing all imported goods from China. This could really change a lot of things we shop for. Off rip, I am thinking that online shopping from places like Amazon, Shein and Temu would look more expensive. Even phsyical stores like our beauty supply stores and tech like phones and laptops could be more expensive. In order to combat this, I am cancelling my prime subscription. I will be thrifting clothing instead of buying new clothes, especially from Shein. I also suggest you try to buy Black owned braiding hair like Beauty Braids and Beyond. There are online and physical Black owned beauty supply stores that we should support. I also do not plan on buying any new phones or laptops for at least 6 more years. So I would update your technology without giving Apple or Google or Samsung money directly. I like buying used products but some used products pay a percentage to these companies anyway. I think BackMarket is a pretty good place to shop.

The American government also wants to get rid of reproductive rights and birth control access. Some people theorize that they want us to keep having children for their slave workforce which adds up with their attacks on better education for children from poorer families. Outside of protesting, we have to support our local Planned Parenthoods anyway we can. I saw suggestions of people buying Plan Bs and donating them to Planned Parenthoods and organizations that support reproductive rights. Long term birth control is also more popular among young women. They want to take away all of our choices. I have switched over to a copper iud (vlog here) because I did not want to take any hormones anymore. I liked the implant for a couple years but it was a version of hormonal birth control and not everyone reacts the same way. It can be scary to have birth control trial and error with how quickly they want to remove access. There are lots of options and I suggest you read through all of them and how they fit your lifestyle. Please do not just read the horror stories. I would suggest birth control even if you are not having an active sex life because anything could happen and the government does not care about you or your body. For males, always use a well fitting condom and dispose of it properly. They are still doing trials on male birth control and so I do not believe they are ready for public consumption. It is crazy to have a baby during the revolution.

The American government is also trying to crack down on the LGBTQ communities by declaring there are only two genders and that the only natural family is only when men and women are married. It is disgusting but not surprising that America is holding on to white supremacist ideals that originated after the civil war. I heard of people killing themselves and some people already detransitioning. I do not have any more answers than supporting local organizations who have been fighting for and supporting the LGBTQ community. And people who do not identify as LGBTQ+ are still not safe either because once they finish with them, they will come for all of us in different ways. We are going to have to protest and fight back. This and the other issues are not issues we can just throw money at or complain about at home or behind a screen. Our lives are at stake because of a bunch of hateful confused neanderthals.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is under attack as well. The NOAA raises awareness on climate change which is only going to get worse if these companies are still allowed to destroy forests and oceans. We all have to do our part yet personal recycling isnt going to fix the climate. Along with boycotting and making demonstrations and fighting, there are organizations who plant new trees and hosting clean ups. I heard some people grow moss and different plants in their lawns for biodiversity. A list of all the companies ruining Earth would be very helpful. We have to force our government to stop spending money on terrorizing other countries for no reason and use the money to slow down climate change.

America wants to be an all white country and to do that, they want to make it even more difficult for migrating people. We have to urge our congress not to say ‘yes’ to these laws. In addition to the protests and rallies, we have to fight against the harmful and racist propaganda.

Affordable healthcare is also under attack. They want to find ways to limit Medicaid by term length limits or lifetime caps. So many people would lose their rights. Healthcare is a right and insurance is a scam in America. Outside of fighting, I have no ideas on how we can help ourselves if this happens. Ideally, I would love an underground network of doctors and nurses who can get people help under the radar. Right now I do not have insurance and I do not have any chronic illnesses that hinder my day to day life so I have just been making sure to eat healthy, floss, brush and workout to remain as healthy as I can. For disabled people, it can be tougher to do these things, hence why we need a stable community to help one another get medication and run errands. If you can get a job with insurance that would be good too but I do not know how and if that will change. There are low cost clinics that may still be open as well as school practices that can be cheaper than traditional hospitals.

Altogether, we have to be a community. I do not believe in kumbaya with everyone but we can support one another with our skills, time and resources to fight for our basic human rights. We have to be more proactive than reactive. We have to stop underestimating our enemies as dumb racists. We have to fight smarter and longer. The revolution will not be easy nor will it be comfortable but I will take a few years of relative discomfort for freedom than waiting and watching as we are forced into apocalyptic futures. It takes hope which sounds corny but if you are still alive, you still have hope for a better life and it can and will come.
